The first Light was switched on in 2009 and finally turned off in early 2020 due to the pandemic.

(In those 12 years, we hosted dozens of renowned maestros, TDJs, and several orchestras.)

We’re very happy to share that, after 5 years, the New Light will switch on again—twice a month on Sundays!

We hope this will once again be a wonderful and relaxing option for both London-based and visiting tangueros.

We have organized more than 15 milongas at the Argentine Residence in London and twice at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires. These events were truly magnificent, held in such unique venues. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful opportunity to promote tango culture, made possible by the support of both the British and Argentine governments.

We have organized 12 annual editions of this wonderful outdoor tango event in collaboration with the Argentine Embassy in London.

The first editions took place under the bridges near London Bridge, inside Borough Market. Later, we moved to an even more iconic location in London—The Scoop, right in front of the magnificent Tower Bridge.

At these events, we offer continuous “Taste of Tango” classes for the public, along with dance performances, live music, and lots of social dancing.

This event is part of the Summer by the River festival, which runs from June to September. On one of the weekends during these months, we transform The Scoop into a free tango party open to everyone!

We started London Tango Week in 2014. This annual event has three main components: a tango marathon with many hours of social dancing over three days, advanced tango classes, and the official championship (Preliminary round of the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires).

Prior to the busy tango weekend, we run a circuit through various London tango clubs (milongas). During the marathon, we not only use the stunning Porchester Hall for dancing but also the iconic Paddington Train Station.

In 2025, the preliminary competition was moved to Türkiye, but we are still planning to hold the event in London this year—just without the international competition.

This year marks the 5th edition of the Ambassador Tango Cup in London.

The competition will take place over two days, with the final held at the Argentine Residence. As in previous editions, there will be a Milonga at the Residence following the conclusion of the championship.
